Feb 3 2016

Wow! Time flies! Dev is going to turn 2 this month. He's growing too fast that I just want the time to stop! Totally enjoy listening to all the new words he's saying everyday.
Today was a great day. We went to the park in the morning and evening. Dev had a great time playing with his play date friends. In the afternoon, we made some valentine goodies for the valentine party on Friday. I found this very cute project on Pinterest.

Started off with these free printables from www.dandee-designs.com. Got these printed on card stock from ups. Found those plastic bags that fit the mason jar cutouts perfectly in Michaels, Carved out a circle from the card stock, placed the card in the plastic bag, filled it with gummy worms and sealed them off. Voila!
Dev helped me fill the candies in these cute bags for his buddies. We really enjoyed doing this project together :)

Seven months update

DEV is seven months old now and so many new things!
I can't believe Dev is able to do so many new things these last few weeks! He's been rolling over a lot when we put him on the bed. He loves to sleep on his tummy. For a little over two weeks he has been able to hold on to his toys (watch out, he throws them too!) which makes playing with his teether toys much easier. He loves his Sophie the giraffe! He is laughing all the time and when I say laughing, I mean a real good, belly laugh! It is the best noise ever! He is constantly smiling so it doesn't surprise me that he has an abundance of laughter. He is extremely talkative and making all sorts of noises, and of course, as his mom I swear I've heard "amma" , I know it's just coincidence but it's still pretty cool! It seems like he's really feeling out textures and pays attention to different noises.
He got his first pair of teeth and am happy with his eating. He has started snacking on puffs and its absolutely cute to watch him eat. He knows the whole eating thing now and am proud of him.

His sleep schedule has been good so far. He's sleeping for seven hours straight - I'm not complaining! And I dont have to hold him or rock him to sleep anymore which is a very good thing. He sits up and plays for a long time during the day. He walks on his ferrari walker and chases the colorful balls and doesnt get bored of it. Last night he stood for the first time. We were just amazed seeing him stand like that until we counted 20!  There is so much of me that wants him to stay an itty bitty baby forever but it is so magical watching learn and explore new things! Being a mommy is beyond what I could have ever imagined.

Dev's one month update

I think time keeps going by faster and faster. My tall guy is already growing out of his cute newborn clothes! He doesn't fill them out width wise but is length wise. Dev is doing wonderful. He s eating well. Now that we've crossed the 4 weeks mark, we are aiming on feeding him about 24 ounces a day. He takes a few naps during the day and being nice sleeping through the night until we wake him to feed. I can see him grow every day…He got his first tear this week crying. We took our first family selfie!
He smiles a lot in his dreams while sleeping.
Am just waiting to see him smile while he's awake. At 2 weeks, we took him for his first walk to the park.

We took him out for his first shopping experience to Target  and that would mark his first stroller ride too. Here is my little guy at the one month milestone.

Introducing Baby Dev

It's hard to believe that one month ago today, on Feb 17th, Dev came into my life. I have been cherishing every moment and cannot believe how fast it has gone by.  I'm beyond happy and more in love than I could've ever imagined! He's so precious.

I had a fairly easy delivery, he wanted to stay longer inside though. It was the most amazing experience and I cant describe that in words. The best part is knowing that he s mine to keep and it teaches you about a completely different level of love you can have for someone! Truly magical!
I will be updating here on how things are going with Dev, my favorite things as a mom, his favorite things as a baby and other fun baby things I can think of!

Pumpkin seed earrings

I saved these pumpkin seeds when I carved my pumpkin during Halloween. Cleaned, dried and preserved them thinking I would come up with something in the future.
Last week, When my nieces visited us, I wanted to do something fun with them. And, we made these pretty earrings with the pumpkin seeds. Here is what you'll need,

Dried pumpkin seeds
earring backs
4 mm jump rings
Rhinestones
needle
2 pairs of pliers
hot glue gun

  1. Choose a pair of perfectly shaped seeds and using the needle, make a hole at the top of the seed.
  2. Using the pliers, widen the jump rings and insert them into the hole on the seed.
  3. Insert another jump ring to the earring back.
  4. Insert this jump ring into the one with the seed and close the ring back using the pliers.
  5. Stick the rhinestone in the center of the seed using a hot glue gun.

And there it is, easy breezy earrings and a fun thing to do with kids! I bought all my supplies from Michaels and enjoy doing different crafts once in a while. Hope it was an useful DIY. Thanks for reading :)

The Valentine wreath

February is a very special month for us and this one is my first Valentine's day project. I saw this over at Micheal's and wanted to make one by myself for our home. So, I made a trip to the Dollar store and bought 10 bunches of red roses and a wreath base. Here is how I made it.
You will need,
10 bunches of red roses
1 wreath base
Wire cutters
Hot glue gun
Ribbon for hanging
Each bunch has 6 roses in them. Using the wire cutter, cut off each rose from the bunch with 2 inches of stem and set aside.
Take the wreath base and insert the stems into the gaps of the wreath base. Add some glue to the base of the flowers and work your way around the wreath placing the roses uniformly around the wreath.
Turn the wreath over and fold in the stems that are sticking out or chop them off using the wire cutter.
Using a wide ribbon, hang the wreath on the door.

Pretty easy right? This is a perfect thing to do when its cold outside and you're watching your favorite tv show or movie! Love the pop of red on our door…feels like Love is all around :)

Thursday Shoppping

I love shopping on thursdays coz it makes me feel its almost weekend! I will be posting my favorite things I shopped on thursdays here :) This thursday, I got my first Fossil watch. Rose gold is so much in trend this season and for a while, I've been eyeing on rose gold accessories and wanted a watch in rose gold. I checked out the popular Michael Kors piece but felt it was too big for my tiny wrist and settled for the Fossil piece. It's stone studded and a chronograph which i liked the best. It looks perfect on me and I lurve it!

Oh yea! Am obsessed with Rose Gold now and more to come! Happy shopping!
